Papaya

Listed under this shop name. A species note has not been added yet.

$2 per isopod

How many1

No set pack size. A new colony usually does better with several animals than with one.

Habitat

Papaya is a warm-colored humid display isopod. Moss, leaves, and a less-wet side. Keep the bin warm-room stable rather than on a heat spike. The orange tone is a shell color, not a stain from fruit.

Diet

Decaying leaves and wood. Calcium yes. Fruit is unnecessary and molds. A pinch of ordinary protein is enough if you supplement.

Breeding

Display pace. Young may be duller until they size up. No brood record.

A good fit

Another humid Cubaris-type for a keeper who already has the moss routine.
